What this mantra is
A plain reading: reverence to Narayana. It is repeated as an act of remembrance rather than request.
How to practise
- Sit or walk slowly; this mantra suits both.
- Repeat softly at a pace that lets each syllable stay clear.
- Let the mind rest on the sound rather than on the count.
- Finish with a minute of quiet attention.
Notes
- Devotional japa can bring feeling to the surface. That is allowed; keep the pace gentle.
- Works well for a longer 108-count sitting.
- If strong emotion becomes overwhelming, stop, open the eyes and return to ordinary breathing.
Practise gently
Shoonyaka offers educational wellbeing guidance, not medical advice or treatment. Practise seated or lying safely, never while driving, in water, or operating equipment. Stop immediately and return to natural breathing if you feel dizzy, faint, breathless, numb, panicked, painful, or unwell. If you are pregnant, under 18, have a heart, blood-pressure, neurological or respiratory condition, or are recovering from illness or surgery, seek guidance from a qualified healthcare professional before breath retention or unfamiliar breathwork.
